The process of bringing a tiny being into the world is not simple. 9 months in a 5-star hotel suite with a private amniotic fluid pool and 5 meals every day. Yet once the child is no longer in the womb, the real fun begins, with each day offering something new.
You easily adapt to one change, and then another occurs almost immediately. The need to consume food is a permanent condition. Many moms opt to breastfeed their infants, creating a link that is difficult to sever when the mother must be absent for longer than 15 minutes.
This grandfather developed a way to bottle-feed his grandson without any hassle, yelling, or weeping, which is, to be fair, the desired outcome. Let's get into the narrative!
Infant disliking bottle-fed milk? This grandfather has a trick for you.

Wendy Rangel published on TikTok a video of her father putting a baby bottle through a hole in his t-shirt, with the bottle's clear spout protruding. He placed it on his chest with care so that it wouldn't move or fall, tapping around it to ensure it would stay in place.
In the background, Wendy can be seen laughing as the caption reads, "My godson refuses to drink from the bottle, so my father tried something."
In a viral TikTok video, a clever man is seen putting a baby bottle inside his shirt to imitate a mother's breast.

Then came the true test — would the infant drink from it? The man holds the child in his arms while attempting to arrange him so that he can sip the milk without spilling anything on the floor.
The infant notices the nipple, regardless of whether it belongs to his mother or grandfather, and automatically latches on.
The image leaves Wendy in hysterics, her laughter echoing around the room as her proud father rocks back and forth as the baby happily guzzles milk.
Clearly, he is very pleased with his creation. But the true test is whether the infant will fall for it.

The video concludes with a close-up of the hole with the man's own nipple protruding and a wet patch on the man's T-shirt representing the remaining milk. He then massages the area and sighs as if to indicate that he is sore from his recent exertions.
The video has accumulated an incredible 8.8 million views and nearly 2 million likes since it was posted towards the end of 2020. It was dedicated "to all the fathers who battle to get their infants to drink from the bottle."

I went down a rabbit hole in order to discover all the reasons for their actions. Certainly, I will share the findings! This may not be everyone's cup of tea, so feel free to skip forward to the whole video below, but if you're as intrigued as I was, continue reading.
As reported by Mamamade, typical indications of a child's aversion to the bottle include skipping meals with no apparent distress, appearing hungry but refusing to eat, getting agitated, weeping, or screaming at meal time.
In addition, they typically consume very little milk before protesting, averting their gazes, and physically turning away from the bottle. This conduct is not only stressful for the infant, but also for the parents.

The nipple on the bottle imitates the mother's, and the milk often comes from the mother herself, so the flavor should be comparable - probably more comparable than the formula! The question "why???" haunts the majority of parents, which is encouraging in the sense that you are not alone and a solution must exist somewhere.
There are a multitude of reasons why infants vehemently reject the bottle, ranging from medical difficulties to milk with an improper temperature.
And it's a triumph! The infant latches on nearly immediately, the pleased grandfather encouraging her by rocking back and forth.

Healthline listed the top seven reasons why infants refuse the bottle, including preferring to continue breastfeeding, not being hungry enough, being too ill or unwell to feed, being held in an uncomfortable posture, not like the temperature, flavor, or texture of the milk, or the bottle itself.
Last but not least, they may have had a negative association with bottle feeding in the past, such as connecting it with reflux, gagging, vomiting, or poorer milk compared to what they were accustomed to.
Importantly, do not panic. Infants cry and act irrationally on occasion because they do not know better. And it is your obligation as a parent to decipher their enigmatic cues and discover the optimal solution for all of you, particularly the infant. You should know that they won't be preparing omelets anytime soon. So, how can you make the infant enjoy the bottle?
The shirt is lost in the scenario, but as long as the baby is nourished and content, it was a worthwhile sacrifice.

Here is a list of recommendations from WebMD, none of them involve the "fake the boob" approach that the grandfather used. First, inspect both the bottle and the milk. Milk should be heated to around 37 degrees Celsius or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, and should not be reheated in the microwave to avoid temperature discrepancies.
Moreover, do not fear tasting the milk. If it has a strange, putrid, or soapy flavor that makes you gag, it is likely that your baby will not enjoy it either. Check whether the milk can freely flow out of the nipple, as there may be a blockage or the opening is too small for the baby's needs..

If neither the bottle nor the milk is the problem, the infant may be the culprit. They may not even desire meals to begin with! Their small brains may be focused on something far more interesting, such as the television, particularly if The Witcher is on. Henry Cavill has the ability to divert anyone, as seen by my own inattention to the main subject of this paragraph. Worth the effort.
In any case, if the infant has begun to love solid foods, they may no longer desire the bottle and be content to use their baby teeth.
Baby Kenny was born on June 2, 2020, and his godmother and grandfather are completely smitten with him.

Observing the baby's health is, nonetheless, of paramount importance. In the event that a child's feeding process is too painful or uncomfortable due to a cold, ear infection, or sore throat, they should be taken to the doctor.
The same holds true if the infant is rapidly losing weight due to malnutrition. Especially note if the infant is continuously screaming or losing fluids through vomiting and diarrhea; these are all red signals that warrant a trip to the doctor. Again, if it's an isolated incident, do not panic.
The little angel is a true blessing for the family. It is typical for infants to dislike bottle feeding for a variety of reasons.

Also, do not rush! Although infants typically learn rapidly, it can be a bizarre experience that requires a great deal of patience and composure. Even though these explanations and treatments have been listed, there are plenty others that are more applicable to your child.
Now we can appreciate some photographs of the sleeping infant in all of its adorableness.
The goal is to remain patient, study the child, determine why the problem persists, and above all - don't worry.

Babies can be frustrating when they refuse to cooperate with what is best for them, despite their cuteness. And yes, sometimes ripping a hole in your shirt and faking it may be the last resort!
The grandfather appears to have mastered the bottle. But, I do not want to see any comments stating that the child is being taught harmful behaviors, that children should not be exposed to alcohol, etc. The child is well. The contents of that bottle are empty. He is enjoying his time with his grandfather to the fullest extent.
